Nordcrewing provides ship delivery crews across European and Scandinavian waters, with a particular focus on tugboats and workboats. From newbuild collections and vessel purchases to fleet repositioning and shipyard transfers, we help owners move their vessels to the next destination.

Our background in tugboat recruitment and crew management gives us a practical understanding of these vessels and the people needed to operate them. Each assignment is planned around the vessel’s characteristics, condition, route and the owner’s requirements.

Delivery services tailored to your vessel

We can arrange a complete delivery crew or individual officers and ratings to complement your existing team. Crew selection takes account of relevant vessel experience, qualifications, flag requirements and the intended voyage.

Typical assignments include:

Preparation and voyage coordination

Before mobilisation, we agree the scope of the assignment and responsibilities with the owner. Depending on your requirements, our support can include crew selection, documentation checks, travel arrangements, voyage planning coordination and handover preparation.

The delivery crew needs sufficient time to become familiar with the vessel, its machinery and safety equipment. The owner remains responsible for ensuring that the vessel is seaworthy, appropriately insured and certificated for the intended voyage.

Passage planning considers weather, fuel range, suitable ports, navigational restrictions and crew rest requirements. Departure and voyage decisions remain subject to the master’s professional assessment.

Clear communication through to handover

We agree reporting arrangements before departure, keeping you informed of voyage progress, expected arrival and any changes affecting the schedule.

On arrival, the crew coordinates handover with the receiving party, sharing relevant observations from the passage and identifying any outstanding matters.
